Hummingbird humming in our spirit-mind-body

I remember when hummingbird spoke to me while sitting in the woods recently, taking in the wonder of the natural world around me.  However, the message didn’t arrive in English, there were no other humans present to judge that and I didn’t ask if my nervous woodland creature friends had any green cards.  Admittedly, I was almost fooled by my fleeting encounter with hummingbird, as some dragonflies flitted about that nearly cloaked hummingbird’s presence.  But I recognized a slight acoustical variation and felt the great power generated from its spirited wings moments prior to my eye-witness encounter.  And then a leave fell in front of me and I observed a slight tremor in the Force (Chi), if you will, by noticing a slight change in color–evidence that Autumn is on its way.  In fact, the Fall Equinox rapidly approaches us on September 22, 2012 here in the Northern hemisphere, on Classroom Mothership Earth.  Hummingbird reminds us to find joy within our Being, regardless of what trials and tribulations we have been through and whatever roadblocks we may encounter down the pike.  Given hummingbird’s ability to fly in all directions and stop on a dime by hovering in dead air, I wonder if Barry Sanders had a hummingbird as spirit guide?  When meditating on hummingbird, I am reminded of great Master teachers like Jesus and Buddha.  Have you heard that these God-realized humans lived with the spirited wisdom that while taking life too seriously is foolish, being naturally playful and child-like is best medicine.  When having an open, passive attitude toward life, we welcome an abundance of positive energy that is free and clean fuel for our collective soul.  When meditating on hummingbird medicine, we allow ourselves to consume the sweetness of life in a balanced way–a harmonic convergence spirit-mind-body, so to speak.  As humans, if we want to change our trajectory on our planet and the Universe, then we need to leave behind a cleaner Carbon Footprint that walks in alignment with Nature.

Has anyone out there ever heard the joke about when the Italians “discovered” America and one Native American looks to his friend and says, “there goes the neighborhood?”  Well, when I caught wind of some of the Republican National Convention, I couldn’t help but get swept off my feet by the whirlwind of pep rally energy.  Anyone duped by the political rhetoric of Republic ideology is lured into the conceptual framework of their platform–specifically the Ron Paul ring-tone of libertarian, rugged-individualism that plays on natural sentiments of the audience.  Admittedly, I was initially surprised that our current moderate Republican President, business candidate of Wall Street, was not featured in front of the podium.  Instead, we paid for the privilege to be propagandized by some rich guys, that were placed in front of our telescreens by some really rich guys that feed this corporate mob during the liberal pour of their dog and pony show.  But I can appreciate why right-wingers like Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and master illusionist Carl Rove want to keep moderate Republicans like our current President out of the room, without a chance to defend himself in this ego-centered debate and charade.  Did anyone see Clint Eastwood steal the show with the empty chair?  True, Obama is still a mystery and it is normal to fear what you don’t understand.  But many of us are wise to their act.  Soon, we will see act two with the Democrats, but what we have here in the USA, is a one-headed, two-party system that is one step away from a dictatorship.  Even the pathetic Democratic party, that fronts itself as working toward its democratic principles, is fed by the same high octane Tea Party and deep pockets.  Doesn’t the film that is sold to us read like a parody of a fairy tale that you are embarrassed to read to your grandchildren?  Are we being fleeced and caught up in a golden straight jacket?  Here in Maine, governor Paul Le Page boasted like thieves after a looting, while being received by thunderous applause, he bragged about meetings held in secrecy to push forth an agenda that undermines worker’s rights, public education and welcomes more abundant pillaging of our Mother.  Personally, I feel an empathic compassion for Le Page, in the sense that he doesn’t see himself as a house slave that has forgotten his brothers and sisters in the field, while serving his master and overindulging in the excesses of Mansion on the Hill.  Who payin’ you?  Have folks forgotten that this country was built off the backs of free and indentured labor?  Would there be an American Dream, if it were not for the sacrifices of our Native American and African-American brothers and sisters and many other colorful folks?  And yet, when we gaze upon the chimes of freedom and see our friends in Congress, do we see equitable representation of their hard labor?  Is the Middle Class being fairly compensated for their hard work?

But I didn’t write this blog entry to change the world in one fell swoop.  Rather, in spite of the intentional boxes that are programmed into our collective psyches, perhaps we might allow ourselves to find a breath of fresh air in hummingbirds mantra that life is full of joy and re-program ourselves from inside out.  Are you allowing yourself to taste the sweet nectar of life, a moderate indulgence of sugar and the like?  True, most of us didn’t grow up in a Mayberry like fantasy, but we all have the power within to transcend the hypnotic trance suggested to us by the master illusionism that hides behind the curtain.  Remember the wise old saying, “the truth shall set you free?”  But don’t take my word for it–please consider testing out the power of hummingbird’s medicine yourself.  Maybe the next time you find yourself feeling swayed by a carefully crafted commercial, you will picture a hummingbird and start humming to yourself.  There is powerful energy in sound and humming is a natural way to energetically wash your spirit-mind-body and access inner joy immediately.  In this light, we peer into the realm of infinity and co-create a New Earth, one step, one breath and one moment at a time.

Union of the Snake

I remember puttering around the garage recently, stepping into the backyard for a spell and sharing an unexpected intimate moment with a snake gazing my way from his vantage point in the grass.  Given that I was about to embark on an adventure to my 20 year High School reunion, I took my encounter with snake as an omen to shed our old skin, while allowing for a smooth transmutation process into becoming something new.  Given the changing tides, this summer is an especially hot time for reunions and gatherings.  When we face the music and participate in the theater of life, it is not always an easy buffet of feelings to consume and digest.  We are all mirrors for one another, albeit diverse expressions of Great Spirit (God, Universe, etc.).  As mirrors, we do not always like seeing the snakes reflected back our way.  However, when we tap into the fire of snake medicine, it invokes within us the process of alchemy that facilitates healing.  By embracing our own power, we wake up to our authentic selves.  In releasing our own suffering, we open up to compassion and love.  Remember that the Buddha arrived at this Earth plane to show us compassion, while the Christ arrived to show us Love.  When we heed their wisdom and walk in this Light, we facilitate the healing of ourselves, the planet and Universal Consciousness throughout by co-creating Heaven on Earth one moment, one slither and one breath at a time.

Has anyone else out there had a tendency to play with fire and get burned in the process?  In the theater of life, facing the music and taking it to the edge sometimes is an experiential learning opportunity for growth, here in Classroom Mothership Earth.  Sometimes, ingesting the poison of the bite stokes the inner flame of alchemy to wake up to our own immortality.  Perhaps our dying selves and dying world will be the death of us, but with every funeral comes a new birth.  Regardless of one’s belief systems, those of us that know the power of prayer and meditation know a direct experience with Divine Energies that are available as powerful resources to us, if only we ask.  At this junction of Nature’s cycle, it was so nice to celebrate good times with old friends and breathe in new life, while exhaling dead air.  While many folks avoided directly participating in our celebratory ritual, I know the good vibrations will be felt by even those that did not show up.  When we effectively integrate our masculine and feminine energy and heal polarity in our consciousness, we light the torch of fire medicine.  In the spirit of that, we create passion, desire, procreation and physical vitality on the material plane; ambition, creation, resolution and dreams on the emotional plane; intellect, power, charisma and leadership on the mental plane; and wisdom, understanding, wholeness and connection to Great Spirit on the spiritual plane.  Does anyone remember the scene from The Matrix when Neo visits the Oracle and the little boy in the waiting room says to him something like, try not to bend the spoon . . . that’s impossible . . . instead, imagine that the spoon isn’t there.  Readers, do you see that magic is no more than a perceptual shift in consciousness?

Snake’s energy has potential to awaken our Divine Life Force within (Chi).  If you would like to tap into this power, please consider keeping yourself energetically clean by psychically bathing yourself in white light and flushing whatever toxic debris remains down your spine, through the soles of your feet and into Mother Earth for her to receive and compost.  By embracing our power with respect to our relationships, we wake up authentically to our True Selves.  Shamans of the Americas have shared stories of a dying, snake-like god named Quetzalcoatl that would someday return.  In this Light, we will explore fantastic mythical stories like this in future blog conversations.  If anyone out there has a poignant story to share, I would excitedly welcome that.

Bee Real (even if you are not sitting on a Hill in Cyprus)

Here on Mothership Earth, we are welcoming Buddha’s Light on the forthcoming powerful Wesak Full Moon.  In our neck of the woods in Northern New England, the peak of His Light arrives around midnight on May 5.  However, for many of you tuning in from many other parts of the world, the energies of the Wesak will radiantly illuminate on May 6th.  In some circles, folks prayerfully wish us well by coming from the intention of  “Love and Light”.  When I hear these words, I immediately picture Buddha and Christ co-creating Light and Love in our world and showing us our Divine nature in our human form.  Today, in this “world of 10, 000 things”, I can feel their energy with us right Tao as we awaken our consciousness on our planet one step, one breath, one moment at a time.   Yes, there is global tyranny on the surface of our classroom.  While some are fighting for basic survival, others sit in pomp like the “boasting of thieves after a looting” and some are getting lost in the robotic doings of life, by just trying to provide a better life for their children.  Regardless of what your situation looks like on the surface, nature offers us glimpses into her spirited realm that we may invoke within our individual consciousness and awaken to the Light Buddha revealed to us through his human incarnation and Infinite Spirit.

Has anyone out there ever drank in and felt buzzed by watching bees flitting about in their industry and flight, while cross-pollinating the flowering of our Garden?  Are you producing enough, enjoying the fruits of your labor and/or so busy you never have time to do what you want?  Are you pregnant with an idea, fertile with your creativity and/or need to examine your own sexuality or attitudes toward sex in general?  When folks meditate on bee consciousness, does anyone else out there feel inspired to transcend life’s roadblocks and transform into something greater to accomplish the seemingly impossible Quest?  Perhaps this looks like merely getting out of bed in the morning, staying away from certain substances and/or staying alive.  For others, it might be remembering to breathe deeply and slowly when feeling anxious, overwhelmed and/or stressed.  Yet for some, it might mean opening up to birthing the idea of a more equitable global economy, where resources are shared and we all win, rather than protecting “the minority of the opulent against the overwhelming majority.”   I wonder if others out there have relevant experiences in this area and I would welcome hearing your stories of how bees have inspired you.

Given that bees taste with their legs, they provide us with a friendly reminder to stay rooted while traveling on the ground in our human vessel, hopefully without getting stung.  Readers, have you ever pictured a tree that serves both as an antennae to the Heavens, but also grown strong roots channeled deep into the Earth?  This is one way to step into the realm of Infinity, rather than getting stuck in the quicksand of insanity.  Moreover, as we buzz along here on Mothership Earth, perhaps we might heed the wisdom of Ted Andrews that arrives via the lyrics, “the elixir of life is as sweet as honey, and the bee is a symbol that promises us that the opportunity to drink it is ours if but we pursue our dreams.”

When I Gaze on the Ocean, I Sea Gulls

I remember looking O’er the mighty Atlantic one blustery day recently–feeling inebriated as my gaze was alive with Chi, while drinking in the sea. I so appreciate Nature and still carry a particular affinity for Sea Gulls and large bodies of water–a place where I sink down into my Element (without drowning). Ah, Sea Gulls . . . their medicine invokes within Us powers of perception and the subtleties of communication. Has anyone out there ever seen these Herrings in their natural habitat? When close to home, Our winged friends behave very differently than while co-existing with humans on the beaten path of  our tourist spots–where they like to feather our ripple by stealing our junk food, but for God’s sake hopefully not any Alkaseltzer tablets.

I Sea Gulls as good role models in teaching Us to pay attention to the nuances of non-verbal and alternate forms of communication, such as telepathy, noticing body language and effectively “reading” One another. Shoreover, I mean moreover, their medicine is helpful in being more present in our relationships during Life’s daily transactions. Yes, it is sometimes challenging when picking up on alternate forms of communication, non-local reality and realms that are fantastic when juxtaposed with this “world of 10, 000 things”–vis-a-vis signals that might be unconscious and/or flying below the “normal” radar screen of reality. Further, the social science geek energy in me remembers that approximately 85% of human communication is non-verbal. Perhaps even more unspoken truths remain silent and undocumented. Shorelines are magical and mysterious places, where land and water converge into harmonious ring-tone of Unity Consciousness. In fact, the following lyrics soared from the Heavens recently that I feel inspired to share with You: Well my grampy’s off The Waterfront, Now he come to join Occupy Wall Street . . . This yard’s filled with rusty lobster traps . . . He said, the Man did what fisherman couldn’t do . . . These seas are filled with mermaids and sprites that swim these ocean floors . . . . We sent our daughters to department stores, now we’re wonderin’ what they were buyin’ for.  In Yourtown . . . In Yourtown . . . My sweet Eartha I’m sinkin’ down, here Buddha in Yourtown.

In the deep waters of spiritual wisdom, I sea that personal empowerment involves washing away the tentacles of the ego in this Living Multidimensional Classroom, here on Mothership Earth.  As We transition into a New Age and Paradigm, living authentically means learning how to ingest a proper Life diet that includes effective communication and respectful behavior within Our shared social environment.  In the spirit of that, being a clear vessel will help One stay afloat to the Self first and respectful in relationship second. This process of internal alchemy facilitates co-creation and win-win solutions for all of Us to share. Who knows, maybe Herring will allow for You to see beyond the smokescreen and be informed by the color red in a more fair and balanced way?  In my spirited dance, I feel compelled to assert that if I were in a position to push large red buttons, I’d rather sea beneath the surface of my anger and remember to cut back to Inner Peace . . . while leaving the planet green for all of Us to share!

I Hopi You are well,

Ari

While Gazing At A Blue Moon, I Behold An Ivory Tusk

I remember being in the company of men recently, when a fraternal friend spontaneously felt inspired to give me a ‘item of power’ in the form of a small stone elephant carrying a baby elephant within it. While the Elephant’s presence was unknown to us at the time, I could foresee a future blog entry, as I allowed myself to receive the gift. Native to Asia and Africa, Elephant’s are intelligent, emotional and have strong feelings to other members of the herd. What’s more, I’ve heard that One may borrow and acquire Elephant traits of intelligence, strength and loyalty.

Additionally, it is said that Mothers of great teachers and masters dream of White Elephants, in much the same way as Native American myths speak of the significance of the White Buffalo. Moreover, in Hindu mythology, Ganesh was a god to help humans overcome Life’s trials and tribulations. I don’t know if my daughter knows something that I don’t when she calls me “Da Da Buddha”, but there is a story that tells of Buddha’s Mother dreaming of carrying a White Elephant. I never asked my mom about her dreams while she was pregnant with me, though I suspect some fancy Jungian analyst might have a stampede with the possibilities. And I’m sure a Doubting Thomas might give birth to a god of opinion asserting, “don’t ever pay attention to your dreams while pregnant.” Elephant may encourage Us to focus on developing our mental faculties rather than fixating on the physical. Also, Elephant might urge Us to help those whom are less powerful to rise up and press on. Ah, what a long, strange trip it’s been . . . but We keep on truckin’. Further in the festival of Life, We just might tap into ancient wisdom that unearths fundamental truths. For example, it is good medicine to let go of someone or something that has served as security in One’s consciousness. When We allow Ourselves to let go, we let God and co-create win-win solutions that breathes clean energy that We all share as One.

Finally, when I time travel to childhood, I remember gazing at the clouds and noticing them change into different formations. Although I didn’t realize it at the time, I now realize this powerful meditation stimulates psychic energies. When my wife was pregnant, I remember seeing my unborn daughter in the sky that helped me develop a psychic connection with her and nurtured a way for me to carry her with me during the pregnancy. Moreover, while at my Reiki 3 Attunement recently, we were asked about how we felt on the morning after 11.11.11. In a roomful of women, I shared that I felt like I was pregnant, gave birth and felt a powerful sense of release and relief. Perhaps synchronisticly, Elephant symbolizes sexuality and discernment, which aromatherapy may stimulate. Elephant’s ivory tusk reminds Us to stay rooted and shift Our perceptions into Higher Consciousness, a la “as above, so below”, staying present with the Self, family, community, etc. Enjoy the energies of the Full Moon glow on Saturday, December 10th!

I Hopi You are well,
