A New Moon In Capricorn, New Year, Full Wolf Moon & The Chinese Year of the Snake

A New Moon in Capricorn happened on December 30th; marking the last new moon in 2024. When I think about Capricorn, I think about digging in and finding the determination to keep going along the trails of life. Goat’s energy has been a powerful spirit guide for me at times. Specifically, their medicine remedied some of the more challenging hiking adventures I’ve experienced. Somehow, I was able to keep going by taking it one step, one breath, one moment at a time. Secure footing can be hard to come by. But the Goat has got your back.

Truly, it can be challenging when feeling a strong need for being useful to society; magnified by looking for justification in the outside world. At the end of the day, seeking approval from the outside doesn’t get rid of self doubt and is harmful to the self. Trust your inner values. Or like an old friend’s High School yearbook quote stated, “evaluate yourself by your own standards, not someone else’s.”

New beginnings that are always associated with new moons and New Years. Magnify that with a Full Wolf Moon on January 13, 2025, and then the Chinese New Year of the Snake on January, 29th. Lots of new energies are in the air! In the Northern Hemisphere, it is the death cycle of Winter. Things are quieter now. Energetically, it’s time for the soil to rest (as well as our souls) before the next season of Spring’s rebirth and new growth.

The origins of this full moon also comes from Celtic and Old English ancestral roots. Werewolf myths can be found in ancient Greek and Roman societies, throughout European history and among some Native American tribes. These transformational stories appear to align with the mysterious energy of Snake; where old skin is shed to clear way for a renewed sense of self. During this process, Snake’s eyes glaze over with a misty like mucus that reflects the alchemy associated with the cyclical death of the old self, and forthcoming rebirth of the new self and new growth.

Of course the Lunar New Year is always different because it is based on the moon cycles, and doesn’t line up exactly like the Gregorian, sun based calendar. Nothing against the Sun, but man can our egos can get scorched by our control issues. Too much playing with fire, and we can all get burned.

According to legend, a celestial race took place long ago in ancient China. When the first 12 animals finished the race, their energies were honored to become members of the Chinese Zodiac. All the other animals were reportedly surprised by Snake finishing 6th in the competition because Snake effectively swam so stealthily with the river’s currents; hardly perceptible to the other animals.

Because humans often reflect certain traits of animals; appreciate that snakes are cautious and introverted observers. Snakes are adaptable and intelligent, and their cool and mysterious behaviors intersects with their suspicious and insecure nature. Beneath their coat of armor is abundant sensitivity, wisdom, and passion.

Wishing you all much inner peace,

Slithering Into Another Full Buck Moon With Snake Medicine

A Full Moon arrives in our consciousness today.

As always, Father Sky reveals orderly cycles in the heavens,
in much the same way as Mother Earth does with seasons down here on Earth.

But like the seasons, we are not without
changing latitudes and attitudes.

Like when a Deer begins to rut this time of year . . .

To wit:

Or whether or not a manic stock market appreciates
how many points a buck has or the alchemy behind the
nightmare that we see playing out on the surface of the planet.

Even with the advanced intellect behind algorithms and
fancy nanotechnological advances:

You can’t forget about human rights, and the general welfare of all sentient beings.

But you already know not to demonize demons.

Remember that Deer symbolizes the spiritual power to dissolve the monster of fear.

This happens via a strong gentle gaze that awakens
the mythical quest that invites us to connect with Great Spirit.

The sacred union of Snake reflects transformation.

We are all vulnerable to the poisionous toxins in our world.
But remember that in the venom, there is a healing tonic.

Even if you have fallen off the wagon wheel, you
can still get back the eye the tiger with the magic of Crow.

Try not to become seduced by your fears – regardless of how real
you believe them to be, or proof or evidence you have to back them up
and make convincing arguments accordingly.

Heaven and Earth are meant to be in a collaborative relationship.

They are competing together for mutual-aid, rather than against one another.

You can’t have the yang of brotherly order,
without the yin of sisterly chaos.

Nature’s theater of cosmic sibling rivalry is shown
on the screen of a silver lining.

When I think about our ancestors that named this Full Moon after a male deer,
I can appreciate the point that predators and prey, like the yin and the yang
show us the cycle of life.

We humans did not weave the web of life –
we are strands in the web, and our actions have a ripple effect on
the multidimensionality of our experiences.

Put that in your peace pipe and smoke it,
and drink it in your meditative tonic of healthy choice.

Is it a coincidence that our planet has been attracting more attention
from other dimensions since the splitting of the atom, and then the
decision to weaponize this technology?

The reason history tends to repeat itself is due to
the density of the habituated mind.

Destiny only exists when we are unconscious of it.

Isn’t it nice to wake up to a mindful awareness?

Traditions might be time-tested, but not without novelty
and creative outlets.

But if we can learn from the sweet and satisfying souldful dance step
of Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon, then we can deepen
our understanding of balancing ritual with sacred meaning.

Otherwise, we just become ensconced in our robotic doings.

We all need a sense of safety and security.

But not at the expense of sacrificing freedom and liberty.

Getting swayed too far in either direction leads to a chemical imbalance
and hard times on the self.

Be gentle on yourselves peeps.

Till we tweet again,

Ari

Union of the Snake

Stoking the fire burning within . . .

Sacred marriage of internal masculine and feminine kin –
Transmutation of death-rebirth by shedding old skin.

Is your chattering mind merely a reflection of corporate propagated spin?
Fair and balanced news comes from a unified mind-body-spirit din.
Prepackaged commercials should be tossed in the bin.

Standing with energetic footprints growing strong roots –
Allows for a grounded Being anchored in Mother Earth’s soot.

A poisonous snake-bite might appear like an Indian burn . . .
But there is healing tonic entwined within the urn.
Toxic venom is released from a snake bite.
Ingesting a Divine cleansing with abundant watery crystalline love-light.

Are you awakening into New Aquarian Age Unity?
Or are you stuck in old world Groundhog Day repetitive re-run insanity?

The choice is ours to make . . .

Like a vampire bite, the Empire’s cannibalistic toxicity carries venom.
But in our awakening, we are blazing new trails through healing and transformation.

Pain and suffering abound.
Terribly tragic it is.

Nature cries a dirge of acid rain.
Within the ashes, a new Tree of Life is born.

May our souls lighten up and deliver us into our “better angels”.

Meditation on Snake is good medicine for transmutation.

See you further on down the trails,

Ari
