October ends with the modern holiday of Halloween, which traces its roots to the Samhain. The Samhain marks the approximate mid-point between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. Our days are getting darker and we are turning more yin-ward. Our ancestors honored this spirited time by recognizing the “thinning of the veils” between the physical and spirit realms. As such, it is an especially good time to connect with our loved ones that have passed on into the spirit realm. There is so much help in the spirit realm if only we ask. Keep a picture or memorable item of power that reminds you of your beloved on an alter and meditate on that to connect with their energy.

In the beginning of November, we welcome the traditional All Saints Day, All Souls Day and the Day of the Dead and a Scorpio New Moon on the Fourth. Even today, mask wearing remains a powerful spiritual practice that invokes portals into other dimensions and alternate realities, and can also be a good exercise in empathy through perception of other viewpoints.

A Beaver Full Moon rises on Friday, November 19th, 2021. Our ancestors honored this Full Moon by recognizing this time when beavers finished their winter preparations and took shelter into their lodges. Civil Rights calendar highlights include National Native American Heritage Month, Solidarity Week, Diwali, Transgender Day of Remembrance on the 20th, Thanksgiving, and the beginning of Hanukkah at the tail end of the month. Reflect on how we are all equally part of oneness and yet we are diverse expressions of Spirit. Also, the winds of a powerful astrological Eclipse season are blowing in, which will trigger the status quo and further rattle the cages of our global community. Specifically, there will be a Lunar Eclipse on the Full Moon this month and a Solar Eclipse on the New Moon on December 4th. Keep in mind that the Universal Pillars of Love and Truth are what really hold things together, not the ego made structures that appear to run the show. The shake ups are meant to move us into alignment with that. Remember that what we resist will only persist and lead to more pronounced suffering. Might as well say yes to the present moment and be mindful of the home of your breath.

A Full Beaver Moon awakens an attitude of gratitude for shared blessings.

Picture a Turkey to give you the spiritual power you need to

ward off any negative energies that want to suck off your aura.

As you wake up your Third Eye,

you become a more powerful spiritual watcher in your day-to-day operations.

Remember to think in moments, and just be with them,

one breath, one step, one moment at a time.

The time is now for feasting on an attitude of gratitude

Be thankful for everything that comes your way, even if it

doesn’t feather your ripple!

Don’t let that bum vibe hold back your spirit.

Picture a Turkey to fluff your energy field.

Are you feeling thankful for your blessings?

Or are you focusing on what you do not have, but wish that you did?

Turkey guides us into the shared space of gratitude and infinite blessings

Even if they are notorious for stealing their fellow nervous woodland creature

squirrel friend’s winter stockpiles of food storage . . .

In this way, Nature holds up a mirror to look at the power of leveling impulses.

Let us give back to our Mother Earth –

As a way of saying thank you for the abundance She has provided us.

Picture a Turkey to ward off any negative energies that might be

sucking on your energy field and leaving you feeling drained.

A Full Beaver Moon reminds us of a time when peak beaver activity

inspired our ancestors to set traps before swamps froze.

We all need enough fur to keep our bodies warm to survive the cold winter months.

In that industry, Turkey helps our souls warm up to the idea of

feeding ourselves a clean spiritual diet.

We are waking up to the birth of a New Age and Paradigm.

We are lifting the veil from our Third Eye that has been

sleeping in a hypnotic trance for a long time.

A critical mass of feminine energy is gaining power in numbers . . .

Trying to put the brakes on this yin bound train will only delay our gratification –

Met with predictive futile resistance

Equal access to resources is an unfolding convergence of harmony again –

Of sustainable living for our planetary consciousness and beyond.

Commentary:

Imagine all of us sharing our resources and gaining equal access to the greater good. We know that we have been well-trained to divide and conquer and view ourselves as separate from one another. In that, we have become good at making judgements about each other as being either superior or inferior by sizing one another up. But in today’s tumultuous times, we have been given a clear view of perspective taking. A culture of egalitarianism is being born, albeit not without the labor pains. While the pain is inevitable, suffering is a choice. The freedom to choose whether or not we will continue to suffer is a powerful choice. Waking up to finding a way out of the suffering is in our best interest as a collective consciousness. Abundance is a real possibility. We will know when a critical mass is here when enough of us choose to believe it and see the change reflected in a New World as it is revealed before our eyes. May any benefit from this practice help relieve my own suffering. As well as the suffering of all beings. Today my body, mind, emotions, my speech actions and deeds, will embody Loving Kindness, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity. May all Beings Be Free!

Take care of yourselves everyone,

Ari

September Serves Up A Hearty Spiritual Plate with A New Moon in Virgo, Autumn Equinox and a Full Harvest Moon

September’s Full Harvest Moon reaches its peak on Monday, September 20, 2021. But before that, a New Moon in Virgo arrives on September 6. New Moons always carry the energy of new beginnings, novel ways of perspective taking, and allurement into new adventures. Admittedly, Summer’s festive energy can hard to say goodbye to. Like any change in seasons, transitions are not always easy to navigate. Fall is a good time to balance getting back to school, back to business, and manage busy schedules. Squirrels seem to embody Virgo energy in the way they anxiously and intensely sniff out disorder, but not without balancing doings with fun through imitation and play.

September is a unique month because it is commonly referred to as either a Harvest Moon or Corn Moon. Because this Full Moon is nearest to the Autumn Equinox on September 22, it is called the Harvest Moon. In Ojibwe, it is called the Falling Leaves Moon. Our ancestors noticed that the moonrise would come soon after sunset, so the abundance of natural bright moonlight allowed for plentiful harvesting of summer crops.

The Fall Equinox is Nature’s way of reflecting equality between the energies of masculine/feminine, light/dark, yin/yang. After that, our clocks turn yin-ward as our days begin to get darker till we hit the Winter Solstice, the darkest day in the Northern Hemisphere on Tuesday, December 21. In the Southern Hemisphere, it will be the Spring Equinox in September, and then Summer Solstice in December. Energetically, Equinoxes and Solstices are good times to entertain opposites, meditate on wholeness and relax on polarities in your consciousness.

A Full Harvest Moon yields wisdom that it is nuts to keep doing the same thing over and over . . .

And expect different results.

Now is the time to get back to school, back to business, get organized and prepare for a rainy day fund.

Autumn Equinox is Nature’s way of showing us equality between masculine and feminine energies,

both within our beings and in the world around us.

After that, dark yin forces wax on until they climax on the Winter Solstice in December.

When you think you’re out of supplies, losing your acorns and

feeling like your being driven nuts;

Picture a Squirrel to help you

prepare for back to school assignments projects, tasks

and other responsibilities.

What are you doing to get ready for going back to school?

Are you working with your parents, grandparents,

guardians, coaches, teachers, family members
or other caregivers to help make

a successful change in your daily schedule?

Squirrel guides us into the realm of getting back to school and down to business . . .

While looking at the weather forecast ahead,

we are preparing for a winter storage or a time when resources are less plentiful.

Picture sobering up, getting organized and cross-referencing your planner

so that busy fall schedules will not drive you mad!

Squirrels are a good reminder that solid mental health looks like

the realization that doing the same thing over and expecting different results –

is likely to drive you nuts!

Autumn Equinox reminds us of the transitory balance of light and dark energies . . .

Yin (Feminine) and Yang (Masculine)

Are dancing together in equal dance-step.

In the Northern Hemisphere, we are moving further into the dark nights of our souls

to reach its zenith on the Winter Solstice in later December.

On the opposite side of the same coin –

Our friends in the Southern hemisphere know a similar energetic balance by

awakening to a Vernal Equinox in their Spring.

They will see the sunlight expands as darkness contracts

Reaching its climax on the Summer Solstice.

At this time, Nature reflects a most sweet and satisfying sensual equanimity . . .

If only fleetingly and transient

Commentary:

Fall and Spring Equinoxes are similar in the sense that masculine and feminine energies are in balance and reflected that way in Nature. Given that we are part of Nature, these are good times of year to meditate on these energies fluctuating together in natural equality both intrinsically and outwardly. This is an especially good time of year to marvel at the co-creative universal impetus for an egalitarian New World. Of course the building blocks of this new way of living on this Earth starts with you! The light of masculine-yang is the opposite side of the same coin as the dark of feminine-yin. We cannot get to the light unless we traverse the dark. Conversely, we cannot know the dark unless we walk in the light. Yang is expressive and outward in its movement. Yin, on the other hand is receptive and inward in its expression. Those of us in the Northern hemisphere can stand to realize that our friends in the South are experiencing energetic alignment in much the same way we are, absent they will be moving in a masculine-yang-light direction, whereas those of us in the North are moving in a feminine-yin-dark direction. If you prefer the dark and it is the opposite time of year where you live – the good news is that you have something to look forward to. In the meantime, we might as well find a way to accept, appreciate and even embrace the opposite of our energetic preference.

Take care of yourselves everyone,

The Rat Bows to the Chinese New Year of the Ox

Artwork Created by Aunt Barbara Merlotti

Have you ever heard the meme singing like black crows to the following lyrical everyday magical tune: it is easier to fool someone than it is to convince them that they have been fooled? This conversational nuance sprung up in communication with coworker teacher friends recently. Following that, I reflected on the spiritual therapy of Coyote energy, regarding its trickster elemental, and the medicinal alchemy of balancing wisdom and folly that we have referenced in past blog entries. How will our Grandchildren look at the Good Old Boy network of greedy governmental narcissism, the elitist entitlement of the Trump presidency, and subsequent mob’s violent stormtrooping of The Capitol in Washington, D.C.? It’s hard not to be reminded of Obi Wan Kenobi’s Jedi wit, “who’s more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?” The next several years will not be easy. But I do believe that we will rise out of these ashes like a Phoenix, by bringing more balance to the Force.

Personally, the above dynamic is particularly challenging when in the company of others, as I have a strong, single minded streak, and have relied heavily on my gut instincts in life. While being single minded, and self deterministic can be a sound survival skill, and good strategy for living at times, it can also be a curse. Being overly single minded, and self deterministic can come across as entitled, and too selfish to other people. When reflecting on the reality of this perspective, I am reminded of working with the New Age of Aquarius in a balanced way. Like the Wolf Government, the politics of Aquarius dances with balancing individualism with collective group consciousness. How do we balance the needs of nurturing our individual souls with the needs of the collective souls? It’s not an exact science or fixed destination, but more of an unfolding process.

Additionally, there is the street credibility of giving respect to others when respect is shown to you. In much the same way as we see in the old world classic series Game of Thrones, respect is earned, and based on a strict adherence to rituals, rules, and edicts. But a deeper quality of respect does exist, if we only allow for it. When journeying into this dimension, we are invited to dig a little deeper to access this truth, which arrives intuitively from the Dreamtime. For example, a fellow spiritual traveler echoed this awareness by asserting, “the Wabanaki notion of respect is unconditional. It lives inside of me, and the more I become aware of that, then I naturally respect others.” Thankfully, we have spiritual teachers that have lived on this planet before, as well as those that are living on the planet today that are good role models for us. We can emulate them so that we can awaken these truths within so that they become self evident. The more of us that are awakening to this dimension of respect, the more it is becoming a shared experience. Check out this short video that further captures the sentiment at Indian Island Penobscot Nation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pB1Y-s4UoNilF-zq0ETXzFv1tez2WEQs/view

Contextually, when watching the current events of your own life, are you finding yourself untangling from a complex web of your old self, past experiences, awakening to new beginnings, budding energies stirring within, and itching to spring forth out into the sunlight? That would make sense, as Mercury is in retrograde right now till February 20th. Keep in mind that Thursday is a New Moon, and Friday, February 12th is the Chinese-Lunar New Year of the Ox. Spring is on its way, and happening right now, energetically speaking. As we have discussed in earlier blogs, Ox symbolizes humility, hard work, and emotional regulation. What is more, their energies are good reminders that it is important that everyone be allowed to contribute in group work. Sometimes, it is good to stay in your lane, and trust that others will do their part. This process also invites us to be mindful of letting go, and surrendering to the will of the Universe. I can hear an old football friend’s wit, “There is no ‘I’ in the team, but there is a ‘me’“.

More importantly, Chinese Astrology tells a story about when the Buddha summoned all the animals to establish an orderly sequence to the Chinese Zodiac. Moreover, “in the race, the Ox would have taken the honor taking first place had it not been for the clever and cunning Rat, who rode the back of the Ox and jumped forward at the finish line to steal away the top award.” Given that rats are very shrewd, coupled with an apparant zeal for competition, their connection to the term rat race seems apropos. I hardly think it’s a coincidence, given that behaviorist psychology gained social science credence from the results yielded by studying laboratory rats in scientific experiments. The capitalist/socialist system that we live in today mirrors that science.

Furthermore, when exploring the inner realm of meditative spaciousness, consider contemplating the Sacred Geometric Arcturian wisdom regarding balance: “The energy of balance helps you recognize yourself. If you are true to your feelings, if you recognize your own truth, nothing will be able to disturb your balance.” Reportedly, some of these Arcturian inspired, and recommended assertive I-messages are to say, “I release all thought programs that no longer serve me” and “clear out (toxic habituated) thought programs.” These are examples of how we can shift the spotlight of our purposeful attention from negative self talk to positive self talk. We can do this by embracing the Chattering Monkey Mind, rather than trying to push it away or throw it in the trash. Moreover, meditation on the spirit of Bear reinforces the power of respecting your own personal authority, and the boundaries of self in relationship with others. Set your intention to the Dream Lodge, and ask for safe travels in your sleep/dream cycle. This is not always easy during our waking hours, but it is a good way to let go before a good night’s rest.

Finally, when examining balance in our daily lives, it is always important to live with intention, and try to follow those footsteps with commitment. That is the trick to play with during our daily walking meditation along the trails of life. When we are walking in the center of the circle, we need to be mindful of not getting too swayed to the right or the left. Have we ever lived in such divided times? Indeed, these are the days to remember, where we are being called to heal the illusion of Polarity Consciousness. All that means is that our Higher Selves are bringing in higher energies to illuminate the shadows of our lower selves in the underground tunnels of our subconscious minds. In this awakening New Age and Paradigm, we are transitioning into an era of Diversity in Unity. We are all created equal, but are also uniquely diverse expressions of Spirit. And yet we are all part of Oneness. The Rainbow of Children under the Sun and the Moon that we all are. The Middle School Civil Rights Students I work with get that concept. Or like Mr. Miyagi captured in the classic film The Karate Kid so simply, “different, but same.”

Feathering Our Mystical Ripple with the Mindful Eyes of Turkey’s Energetic Vibrations

Artwork Created by Aunt Barbara Merlotti

A Full Blue Moon is happening on the Samhain, aka Halloween.

Our ancestors payed special attention to this time of year because they perceived that the veils are thinner between the spirit/material realms.

All Souls Day, on November 2nd, further reflects ancestral celebrations that honor those that have left their bodies, but live on with us in spirit.

It is tragic to see how many friendships, and family relationships have died due to opposing political views that are culturally dividing friends, and family members.

Is this an invitation to heal whatever polarity that might be living within you to reconcile those diametrical oppositions, and make friends with those differences on the inside?

Could this lead the way into a dimension of digging up, and then reexamining any buried relationships?

In my civil rights work with students, and as a social worker in public schools, it is always challenging to find ways to discuss our diversity in ways that are done respectfully.

But it is a good communicative skill that we need to breathe more life into our planet today.

It is an interesting synchronicity that Mercury goes back direct on Tuesday, November 3rd, the same day as the official Election Day.

When Mercury is in Retrograde, life can feel like living in the Twilight Zone, where non-localized/non-linear realities are more real, and logical/rational thought/machines systems tend to break down, and become more disrupted.

If you are more of a left-brained thinker, who finds security in the creature comforts of concrete thought forms, then you might need to work harder at letting go, and surrendering to these energetic shifts right now.

Tis the season to get in touch with your feminine side, turn inward, and go into deeper meditations/dreaming.

It’s hard not to see the Presidential Election process being without more ugliness, and controversy.

It could take a while before the results are conclusive.

But then again, if enough of us get out to vote, any cheating or attempts at rigging or buying the election are trumped by we the people.

Those statistics fall apart when enough of us stop our silence, and exercise our right to vote.

Regardless of outcome, try not to predicate your relationship with happiness or suffering with which side wins the election, or dominates the Supreme Court.

What really matters is that we focus on finding inner peace on the inside, and become the change that we want to see in the world.

Giving up your power to the circumstances of life, as much of an armageddon as it appears to you, is a sure fire recipe for more inner misery, and turmoil.

Like Einstein said, insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.

There is a great awakening, and freedom in the surrendering to the heart space of Love, and head space of Truth.

A New Moon on November 15th awakens new beginnings, while a Full Beaver Moon on November 30th reminds us to set traps before a long wintry freeze.

Beavers are doers, and know how to get things done.

They also know how to build multiple exit strategies when it is time to leave the security of their old comfort zones.

Are you building new neuronal pathways inside yourself so that you can expand beyond your familar dams of consciousness?

Rituals can be a form of wellness.

But rigid aderance to them can dim the soul, and cramp the brain.

November is historically the gloomiest month of the year in Maine, as the days are getting shorter till the dark climaxes on the Winter Solstice on December 21st.

We will be at the tailend of 2020 by then.

Take a look back at how much the old world has changed over the past years, and this year especially.

Will there be a peaceful transition into a New Aquarian Age with a new administration?

Regardless of what side wins, it is time to let go of an old age that rewards/punishes winners/losers.

It is time to say goodbye to the dying ways of us/them segregations.

Instead of you’re this, you’re that, we are the fountain that springs from Source.

We are an interconnected diversity within unity.

November is a good reminder that everyday can be a true thanksgiving with an attitude of gratitude, and yield a peaceful harvest within.

It is within our DNA, and spiritual powers to ward off negative chi that wants to suck off of our energy fields.

Meditation on Turkey can satiate your spiritual appetite by fortifying your energy field with a hearty meal of energetic protection.

Gently allow Turkey’s shared blessings to feather away an unwanted ripple effect of dark energies that want to feed off of the amazingly powerful life force that lives within you.

Give this form of self care to yourself.

Squirreling Away Our Acorns for Leaner Times Ahead

Images Created by Aunt Barbara Merlotti

A Full Corn Moon reveals its harvest in the skies on September 2nd, 2020, followed by a New Moon in its wake on Thursday, September 17th, and the Autumn Equinox on Tuesday, September 22nd.

Daylight is waning in the Northern hemisphere these days, as is brighter hints of fall in the air, and as seen on the leaves.

Can you hear the acorns dropping from the trees, and popping onto the ground?

Do you appreciate the beautiful rainbow spectrum of foilage on the trees, and the colorful shades of hues that decorate our human family?

Light and dark will be equal again on the Autumn Equinox, and then the dark will rise till its climax on the Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year after the election and eclipse season are over at the tail end of December.

What new suprises are awaiting us between Tao and Zen?

When I think about squirrels, I am inspired about what they do with their nervous energy. I like the way the channel their chi in ways that find balance between work and play.

Squirrels have an intelligence about them that just knows what to do right now so that they have enough supplies gathered for food security for leaner times ahead.

They seem to know how to have fun in spite of how busy they are right now.

If only we humans can remember that during this season of transition, in our back to school, back to business mentality in schools, and other workplaces.

And even thought they often forget where they bury their acorns, they trust their sense of smell to guide them to dig into the earth to shed light on the mystery of their forgotten fruit.

How they don’t lose their minds, and go nuts in the process is beyond my human comprehension.

Seems to me that our world could stand to learn from our fellow spirited woodland creature friends.

Squirrels show us that they have their own rainbow of diversity. Red squirrels are smaller, but more brazen, vocal, and animated in their approach. Gray squirrles aren’t particularly quiet either, they don’t like strange squirrels, and they aren’t afraid to speak up on that.

But there is an old world respect of the rules that they play by that we humans can stand to adopt, nurture in our own doings, and coregulation with one another.

Black Lives Matter and Me Too are merely accentuating the power of that sentiment, just like a black panther captures the magic and mystery of the primal forces that awaken within the depths of the unknown.

It is a tragic and sad day when another black person dies at the hand of an unfair and unjust playing field that leaves all lives strangulated whether realized or not. It is a suffocating feeling, people are tired, and have had enough. The looting and rioting are chaotic manifestations from that anger.

Preschoolers notice differences but do not judge those differences as better or worse. We are taught to do that, and you begin to see prejudicial thought forms developing by Kindergarten.

Move beyond your judgments and see historical context for what it is. We have all been deceived to buy into a segregated system of us and them.

You may have had the good fortune to have been taught that you can grow up, overcome any obstacle, and be whoever or whatever you want. Perhaps the shade of your skin was not really a factor in that belief because you were raised by well intentioned parents to be colorblind.

But the reality is, that for black people, indiginious people, and people of color, particularly in America, that has not been their experience, from the eyes of the dominant majority or mainstream cultural norms.

Yeah, we’ve made progress, but we are still carrying the luggage passed down to us from our ancestors. The cycle of poverty and mental health issues are also part of that baggage that needs to be released and let go of.

The soul power of these movements represent shifts toward equanimity within our human family, and reflect the universal pillars of Love and Truth.

Especially now at the tailend of one age, while coming out of the birth canal into a new one.

The Virus has been a catalyst to challenge our modern day human paradigm in ways that reveal how isolated and disconnected we can feel from one another, and the world around us.

But then again, that is something we have needed to come to reconcile inside of ourselves.

Because the truth is, led by the power of love in our hearts, is the wisdom to know that we are never really alone.

The feeling of separation is part of our suffering. The way out of this suffering is to find the courage to step into our fears, and trust that we are all connected in unity, regardless of our diversity.

Empathy, sensitivity, and an appreciation for our different ways of seeing the world are good for us to work on, and play with in our consciousnessness.

That doesn’t happen if you aren’t willing to self-reflect about your judgments or take inventory of your thoughts and emotions.

It doesn’t happen if you don’t dig beneath the surface of your anger, or look beyond someone’s behavior to see the whole person that might have been hidden from your initial, cursory glance.

An American election is coming that faces a divided nation.

A radical political action that I take is to see the inner nobility of someone that I am struggling with inside of myself.

And then, I focus on gratitude for the presense of whomever I am targeting as the focus of inner nobility of that person.

President Trump is a good example for many of us on the planet to focus on our suffering that way.

As challenging as it might be for you, see his inner nobility, and focus on gratitude for his presense in your life.

This is easier to do with someone you like, and you know cares about you.

There are a lot of seductive conspiracy theories out there that are part of the fake news that flood the corporate media.

I heard a real humdinger recently, the one about The Donald being a light worker in disguise.

As ridiculous as that sounds, the point of namaste is to see the light in another person that also resides in you.

You don’t just do that with people you like or agree with politically.

The real challenge is to love everybody.

Like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

We should heed his wisdom, and bring back the spirit of his teachings in our everyday affairs.

Slithering Out of Our Ruts During This Full Buck Moon

Rebirth

The Eclipse season passes our orbit on this Full Buck Moon on July 5th, 2020. The third, and final eclipse gleans the skies with a Full Lunar Eclipse.

The next Eclipse season will be at the end of November, and mid-December, about a week before the Winter Solstice.

Movement into a New Age and Paradigm continues to accelerate at a more rapid rabbit-like pace.

A respected professional astrologer I know predicts a major doorway for souls to access opening into the Age of Aquarius at that time.

Some people ask that if reincarnation exists, then why do most of us forget our past lives?

Without the gift of forgetting, we wouldn’t be blessed with an awakening to the mystery of life, and choices we are given to make along the roadmap of discovery.

But nobody said becoming mortal, and growing up on Planet Earth would be easy.

And yet it is deeply empowering to take responsibility for the personal choice to find meaning during this lifetime.

Sometimes, finding meaning can be difficult, and require digging deeply into the dark bark mulch of the soul.

Yeah, past lives matter, and future selves are important.

But the gift of the present moment is where the true mystical divinity lives.

Right here, right now.

Is a male deer conscious that his new antlers are going to grow into larger, more powerful ones, or preoccupied with how many points he will end up having on his new rack?

Is he going to get stuck in a rut of analysis paralysis over it?

Probably not.

In much the same way as a deer’s budding antlers, coupled with the New Moon coming on July 20th – the old tracks are fading into the backdrop.

And so it is with the old tracks of a dying old world.

As the past ways fade into yesterday’s rearview mirrors, the birth of a New Earth is growing out of the rubble.

The unknowing facing humanity can be looked at as an opportunity for gentleness on the self, with compassionate allurement into new adventures.

When I think about the masterful predictive algorithms of the stock market, consumerism, and the weather, I am amazed at the mind boggling level of intellectual progress in human manifestation.

But the thing is, everything is changing, and up in the air.

What once served me, or functioned as dazzling spiritual tricks, no longer does.

There are new rules to learn, and respect.

In this process, there will be a new normal. We will need to acclimate, and become wise to it, while saying fairly well to the old normal.

Every soul is here to experience its evolutionary path. This expansion tends to happen by way of a catalyst of adversity.

Sometimes, that evolution looks like taking one step up, and two steps back, or the feeling of being caught up in a holding tank of conservation.

Other times, with the spirited winds at our backs, the opportunity for growth is exponential.

If we are willing to follow through with the commitment, the growth organically attriculates, and shines onto all areas of Being.

Experience teaches that by surrendering to the will of the Universe, I can trust that my boat will be carried to wherever I need to go.

If I can let go of the shores, avoid trying to push the tides, and make myself small, then I can trust, and allow my boat to carry me to my new destination, so that my inner light can shine on the world.

Like when a snake sheds its old skin, the alchemic rebirth of transformation takes place with a new vision, and a renewed sense of choice.

We can all do this.

Till we meet again,

Ari

May This Full Flower Moon Awaken the Fragrance of our Collective Air

Some of our ancestors called this Full Moon a Full Flower Moon
because many spring flowers are blooming around this time.

A New Moon arrives on May 22nd.

For various reasons, this Full Moon on May 7th is also being called a Supermoon –
the third consecutive one of its kind in 2020.

This threepeat makes for an appetizing prequel to this
Summer’s polyenergetic Astrological Eclipse Season.

They will be arriving on the Summer Solstice in later June.

Energies intensify more than usual around these times.

But this Full Moon is also called the Wesak Full Moon.

This is symbolic of the Buddha’s Light of Compassion that shines brightly
on the consciousness of our planet at this time.

It’s always good to have a compassionate approach.
But especially good medicine when spirits spring out, and up.

Do whatever you can to ground yourself, so that
your feet stay anchored into the Earth.

In the Northern Hemisphere of the Americas,
many of us remember learning the mantra:

April showers bring May flowers

Today, it’s especially hard to be a student or work at a school
when school isn’t in session.

Many people are out of work, or being told to stay home.
But how do I make a living? What do I do with myself?

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, we are experiencing great adversity –
humans especially, know calamity on the planet right now.

But there are positive signs regarding the environmental impact
of staying home, and consuming less fossil fuels on our ecosystems.

I’m hearing students, and coworkers say that they miss being at school.
This is coming from people that you don’t typically hear express those sentiments.

And I’ve heard stories about areas in the Himalaya’s
that you couldn’t see a month ago.

Reportedly, skies are clearing to show their beautiful vistas
to the world again in that location.

As if we needed any proof that fossil fuels
don’t adversely affect humans, and all Earthlings!

They certainly aren’t good for the multidimensional Universe either.

What you can do with this adversity right now,
is allow yourself to awaken to the present moment,
and sit with what is.

You can become mindful of the energy of your thoughts,
and the emotions that connect to those thoughts.

You can become mindful of your breath, replace your fears,
and quiet your chattering monkey mind with peaceful, calming thoughts.

Do this one step, one breath, and one moment at a time.

On the horizontal level, you can play with the forms, including your own.

Get plenty of rest, practice self-care, follow a routine,
nurture your creativity by writing, making art, music
take photojournalistic pictures, drink plenty of water, and eat healthy foods.

On a vertical level, unplug from the gadgets,
travel inside your body into your formless dimension,
and notice what awakens within you in the quiet darkness.

What comes up for you in this empty space?

Can you come down into your soul into this unknowing,
and unmanifested area of you that might want to become conscious?

This is a place beyond ingrained thinking, and robotic habits.
It is a space beyond linear, clock time, and schedules.

Yet paradoxically, you can access this space within the
mundane tasks of your daily routine.

This is where the magic wakes up by allowing your
consciousness to see the light of day.

This is the place where the
darkness of night walks out in the sunlight.

It is a commingling partnership with our masculine, and feminine beingness –
inside of ourselves, and outward bound with each other.

Paddling Through the Currents of Events with the Grace of a Swan

A Full Pink Moon rises in our skies on Tuesday, April 7th.

But as many of you know, you can feel the effects of a hungry, and
digesting moon cycle a few days prior to, and after the actual Full Moon.

As this current pandemic event spreads,
so does early spring vegetation across the fruit plains of the Americas.

It can be hard not to resist the not so grand waters
of these rapidly shifting tides of life.

Navigating mixes messages can be like that.

There are many who just want life to go back to normal again.

Some of these people are the same people who
have been waiting on the world to change.

But without an inner directed focus, and spiritually
driven internal shifts, it will be harder to experience any
transformation of becoming the change you want to see in the world.

Staying put, and remaining at home seems like
an easy enough mantra to follow.

Unless it is not.

We are invited to turn inward, and reexamine everything.

Polluted canals in Venice are clearing up,
and dolphins are swimming into inlets that hadn’t been.

With less cars on the roads, and jets in the air,
the planet can rest, and take a deep breath.

If this isn’t a time of a planetary, and universal deep
energetic spring cleaning, then I don’t know what is.

Like an agitated swan, maybe the current waters of life
are enough to make you hiss.

But upon a deeper reflection, may Swan awaken an embracement of
staying afloat through grace under fire during an Aries time of year.

A New Moon on the 22nd, brings new beginnings, along with the
current spirit of the season right now.

Like the Corona virus, Spring is a season of transition
that is not without its mixed messages.

There are rememberances of the ghosts of winter in the air,
of old ways of doing things, that might conjure up nostalgia.

And there are the winds of change in the air, like other times
in human history where massive changes have taken place.

It’s easy to forget that when we have been conditioned to
buy into the business as usual mantra.

Like the Hopi elders say, we are the ones we have been waiting for.

Consider that, another name for corona is crown.

The crown chakra is what connects us to our universal connection to Spirit.

We are living in a time of our crown chakras waking up on Planet Earth.

While being quarantined isn’t the preferred outcome,
we are being given an incentive to awaken this prophecy.

Further movement into Spring’s outgrowth of energies,
reflects the rising light, peaking on the Summer Solstice in later June.

As light starts moving downhill after that, will we see
the darkness of this current pandemic clear up?

How will we all continue to respond to its aftershocks,
readjustment, realignment to a new normal way of being?

With the winds of Climate Change picking up, we do have the opportunity
to come down into our souls, and be in our hearts with each other.

We are being prompted to let go of our attachments to our
deeply engrained habitual distractions that have kept us
sufficiently medicated on life supports.

The present moment contains all that is.
You can heal the past, and create a new future trajectory.

This is authentic power, and you can step into your
power at any given moment.

One step, one moment, one breath at a time.

This can become your new reality, and your new habit
of sacred ritual.

Mindful walking, breathing, and way of doing things
shifts your experience with reality, as does the
reality around you changes.

Releasing Old Stories, and Reworking New Scripts

A New Moon arrives on January 24.
And then after that, the Chinese New Year of the Rat on the 25th.

The duality of an old world dying, and a new one
birthing is laborious, and painful to watch at times.

This transition into a new age and paradigm
goes by different names, just like the moons.

Does that early leaf falling in late summer,
bring you into your fears about the waning light,
and cooler temperatures?

Like all transitions, many people are
questioning where they have been,
and where they are going in their lives.

Some say they don’t want to live on the planet anymore.

There are many forms that people play with to do
that in their consciousness by way of escapism, fantasies,
hitching a ride to another galaxy in a spaceship, running from
our feelings, or retreating into a personal bubble.

One of the ways people give up is through death by suicide.

Killing yourself is certainly one of the 10,000 ways into
the valley of death.

But there are more purposeful ways to expand our souls,
and liberate them, rather than by ending your body’s experience here.

Besides, it’s a really traumatic experience, and terribly confusing.

That’s why I try to be mindful of killing with kindness, and
remember to meditate on Groundhog to die without dying.

It makes sense to me that our ancestors celebrated the Imbolc,
because it marked the mid-point between the Winter Solstice, and Vernal Equinox.

The popular American holiday of Groundhog Day reflects
this symbolism because energetically Spring is starting already.

It’s good medicine to celebrate the light rising at the end of the tunnel,
and the wisdom to see light, and dark balancing each other out again.

As dark of a topic as suicide is,
it does not discriminate.

It doesn’t care if you are rich or poor, what your race,
ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation is, what political
party you belong to, or if you are an introvert or extrovert.

Suicide is something most people contemplate.
But most people don’t do it.

And one of the reasons people don’t end their lives is that people think about
the impact it will have on the survivors, and the holy hell it leaves behind.

One of the complexities of suicide is that people
who try to end their lives, or do end their lives
are sick of the pain, don’t want to deal with it anymore,
and wish their pain would go away.

As a survivor of a completed suicide,
it has been a long journey in working through my own healing process.

It hasn’t been easy to look forward to this month in a new way.

Anniversaries can bring all those feelings,
and old stories right back to the surface –
regardless of how deeply submerged or buried they were.

I can still remember getting the call that my mom
had left this Earth 25 years ago, like it was yesterday.

As you can imagine, that wasn’t an easy call to take,
even though I had tried to prepare myself for it from her previous
attempts, and knowledge of how extreme her shifts
between internal order and chaos could be.

I feel thankful to my family, friends, and fraternity brothers
who were there to cushion the blow, and help me see that
a safety net was there when I needed it.

There have been many ebbs and flows along the way,
regarding how I have handled this tragedy, or not handled it.

Like Sting, I have worn the royal crown of the King of Pain,
and traveled through Dark Knight of the Soul.

For a long time, I’ve been good at hiding that side of myself.
Wearing masks can do that.

But it can also show you who you really are before you are
ready to show your dark and shadow sides to others.

The old survival of the fittest paradigm is
part of a dying process, just as are old stories.

On some level, we have believed that “it’s just the way it is.”

People have been put into boxes, and believed in those boxes.

If you didn’t identify with one version of yourself,
or what someone told you about yourself.

Perhaps you’ve rebelled by becoming the opposite side of the same coin.

The grip of those old stories can be hard to let go of.

We humans have believed in them,
and developed attachments to those stories.

Like with all new moons,
this new moon coming is associated with new beginnings.

And so it is with the lunar energy of a new year.

Rats are shrewd creatures, and can symbolize prosperity,
according to Chinese astrology.

What shrewdness, and prosperity do you want to bring to the table,
and manifest on our Planet in the year ahead?

In social science, rats are associated with behaviorism,
and applied behavioral analysis.

Like humans, rats are intelligent creatures.

Sometimes, behaviorism gets a bad rap about
wanting to manipulate, and control people.

But any knowledge that gets in the wrong hands
embodies that kind of stupidity.

I recently saw an old you-tube interview with B.F. Skinner.
And it was illuminating to see him talk about how he
saw his psychology as a way for individuals to empower themselves.

And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that country rats have been
identified as smarter than city rats.

We all do better in smaller, more intimate circles where we feel
part of a community, and organically connected to Nature.

If you can see the maze for what it is, you can then
see yourself rewiring new cognitive maps.

These are the days of creating amazing portals into new ways of being.

The Howlin’ Wolf Full Moon, and the Chinese New Year of the Rat

A Full Wolf Moon blows in the cold winds on January 10th.

The distractions of the holidays have passed, and the
Sun driven Gregorian New Year eclipses us.

And now many are feeling depressed, as the void of coming down
into the wake of winter’s slumber is setting in.

These feelings are natural, even if demonized, and
feared in our glamorized world of being up all the time.

But we can look forward to a New Moon on the 24th, that is followed closely by
the arrival of the Chinese-Lunar Year of the Rat on the day after that.

Meditate on the tracks of Wolf government . . .
Wolves embody a delicate balance of hierarchy, and democratic principles.

Be mindful of the shrewd inspiration of rats to remember
our intellect to reflect, and evaluate on our current human plight.

Legend has it that even the Buddha was impressed when
Rat was the first one to come learn when he
invited all the animals to his teachings.

You don’t have to look very far to see
the climate of changing tides on the Planet today.

There are many things to grieve about the suffering
we see among our human brothers and sisters.

Yeah, it might be hard not to get seduced by the
enemies of hate spreading like agent orange across
the sands of time.

Watch the dinosaurs of the old paradigm fight tooth and nail
to protect a dog eat dog conditioned mentality that is oppressive.

Remember that those people are suffering the most are afraid
that their power is slipping away by believing that they
don’t have a place in a New Earth.

But everything about that kind of thinking
are merely examples of erroneous zones.

Even if you don’t understand what polarity consciousness,
or diversity in unity means, you probably already realize that
people are more divided nowadays more than yesterdays.

That’s why we souls have come here at this time,
because we must heal the illusion of our perceived separation.

But then again, every soul’s waking up process happens in
its own way, as does their personal transformational process.

As long as I have been on the planet, I have seen this
more pronounced now more than ever.

This is part of our awakening, spiritually speaking.

I was born right around the time that Richard Nixon resigned –
probably right before he would have been impeached.

People forget that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
left his comfort zone of black churches.

He did that with great courage by venturing out into the unknown
to protest the Viet Nam War, and social injustices by crossing over into
the the dominant White, Middle-Class America, and the world at large.

Civil Rights is about asserting the right for everyone to
have equal access to resources. It is about asserting
that we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

Now we have a Billionaire Class gangster at large in the White House.

But he is just part of the Old Testament Goliath
that represents a dying old world.

The vanity fair of the ego should be our servant
but not our master.

A tao centered way of an Aquarian New Age is on its way,
but we are in the labor pains right now.

It is a similar feeling to when you experience loss
when someone you love dies, moves out of your life,
you go through a death of your old self, your child leaves
for college, you go through a break-up, a divorce,
or leave a job, along with coworkers you see everyday, etc.

Perhaps the gender identity, or your sexuality has
changed, and you now view that part of you as dead,
and a new part of you as born.

Out of the great void, arises a new light, and energies
that come alive inside of you when you
let them flow through your Being.

But around here, part of playing the blame game,
and being a blamenator, is to take things personally.

In this sphere, we see criticisms as personal attacks,
and then become defensive.

I know this because I have been good at those things during my lifetime.
In fact, I have been gifted at it.

At some point, you have to get sick of being sick, and realize
that by softening your will, and by surrendering to the
will of the Universe, you aren’t losing or selling out.

If you can access faith and trust, it will shed light
in the tunnel of darkness – however dimly lit.

By not drawing your sword, and going to war with another person,
you are actually getting in touch with yourself on a deeper level.

Remember that the definition of insanity is to keep doing
the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

And here we are with our weapons of mass destruction, wars, cyberbullying,
and deleting each other because we fear our apparent differences.

We have to stop attracting this kind of energy if we are
going to stop creating it.

We can have our philosophical disagreements, and work
them out through peaceful, and non-violent means.

If you want make a difference, like Ghandi said,
you have to become the change you want to see in the world.

Instead of being seduced by your anger, hate, fears, etc.,
listen to your internal informers, and be curious about why
you are really feeling that way.

Respect isn’t an entitlement.
It may be earned, but it should be given no matter what.

Might as well make respect a daily habit.

Do you remember the Golden Rule?

Heaven and hell are inner states of consciousness.

You always have a choice about which gate you go through.

You can heed the call of your lower self (demons), and make
the transition into your Higher Self (better angels).

It isn’t about walking around with a yoke around your neck,
or following the dictates of what society says you should.

You’ll know when your head and heart are in alignment when
you do the right thing just because it’s the
right thing to do out of your own goodness.

It doesn’t matter who agrees with you, or who is on your side.
Just try to see souls over roles when you co-mingle with our human family.
