When Attacked By Racing Thoughts, The Energy Of Frog Reminds Us That Sometimes, We Just Need to “Stop It!”

Back in my Preschool social work practice days, I remember sometimes singing with the students during circle time.

One way I started to get out of my comfort zone, and work with stage fright aka performance anxiety at that time of my life was to play my guitar and sing to them. Like when I first sang aloud with the animals, the littles made me feel more welcomed and relaxed.

Given that we were a special purposed program to help students overcome their developmental delays, I came up with a replacement chorus to the classic old tune, Oh My Darlin’ Clementine.

The message was a simple way to use humor to normalize experiences with anxiety, and went as follows:

Anxiety, anxiety, anxiety is the root…whether rationalizing or in denial of…Anxiety…The point is moot.”

Over the years, that little jingle has served as a positive self talk mantra, as well as the clip below.

Keep in mind that therapists are human too. And the good ones have a sense of humor, and don’t take themselves too seriously. You can say the same about folks on the spiritual path or any of us for that matter:

Furthermore along the trails this spring, amphibians like salamanders, wood frogs and peepers make the trek toward vernal pools for their breeding season on what’s called Big Night.

Their great migration and safe passage requires overcoming dangerous obstacles like human trafficking patterns, such as driving cars on roads, etc.

Of course humans do many disgusting things, and have shady tendencies that reflect in the 3D realm.

But we can move beyond the victim and perpetrator behavioral trap by being mindful of our shadow work.

We can do this by working with our karmic issues by letting go of, and releasing our old soul wounds.

And then in that process, we are becoming more deeply in touch with our better angels.

Have you felt tempted by fate recently?

Are you noticing any old energetic patterns of yourself rising back to the surface?

Loving Kindness is one way to embody this transformation when sitting in meditation; as well as in our everyday footsteps.

Besides, Life is springing up everywhere as singing peepers and wood frogs signal to us that spring is arriving with glee, rhythm and blues:

A New Moon in Pisces today reflects deeper sensitivity and perceptiveness in the social environment, as does engaging in creative or spiritual forms of imaginative Pisces energy.

Moreover, the Vernal Equinox or the first official day of spring will take place on Friday, March 20th. This date also marks the beginning of Aries season, as well as baseball season aka America’s Pastime at the tail end of March.

Mercury also goes back direct on the first day of spring. No worries, mate… things tend to clear up about 10 days or so when the fog lifts.

In many ways, it’s like a new year because Aries is the first sign of the Western Zodiac.

This writer doesn’t think its a coincidence that the fire element is the ‘I Am’ consciousness of Aries the Ram’s primary driver.

Like any of our gifts, we have to temper them, and not throw caution to the wind, so to speak.

A Full Pink Moon will happen on April 1st…aka April Fools Day.

Synchronistically, The Fool card in the Tarot deck is symbolic of new beginnings, limitless potential, and the courage to step into the unknown.

Indeed, it takes a leap of faith to step into the mythical quest…one step, one foot, one breath at a time.

Spring energies reflect another positive self talk mantra; as in, out with the old, in with the new.

Tis the season for setting new intensions, seeing things from new perspectives, and planting new seeds to spring forth.

Moving our bodies is a good way to cleanse and release every cell.

Remembering to take a deep breath to support new life, and then breathe out all the dead air of old ways is good Sacred Medicine; as is holding the highest vision of yourself.

Light and dark energies are in alignment again on the Spring Equinox.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the sunlight will rise till its climax with peak light on the Summer Solstice on June 21st.

At the same time, the darkness will rise till it reaches its zenith on the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemishere.

The Winter Solstice is a powerful time for letting go, while the Summer Solstice is a powerful time for manifestation.

Gratitude is always a powerful attitude to walk with in our footsteps, as is an openness to the present moment as it is.

May all Beings be free from suffering, and experience an awakening to Inner Peace, Diversity within Unity, and Cosmic Consciousness.

Stepping Into A Full Pink Moon Through The Energetic Footprints Of Bull . . .

Photo by Mo Eid on Pexels.com

How we see ourselves and how we identify is age old question for humanity . . .

Spiritually, we are formless beings inhabiting a body that is having a human experience. Truly, this experience is shaped by many things. Moreover, kindly keep in mind that we are sovereign beings and have a far greater say in the life we choose to live than we often realize.

Our bodies are vehicles that our souls travel in during our walkabout on Mother Earth. As souls, we incarnated here to become mortal so that we can learn new ways of being and grow personally and spiritually.

Energetically, this is the season of Taurus the Bull from April 19th-May 20th. The Bull is an assertive reminder that you are worthy and you don’t need anything outside of yourself to claim your worthiness. That is a powerfully grounding mantra to live by in the material world of 10,000 things.

In a way, tapping into the energy of Taurus is countercultural, in the sense that it contradicts the party line of consumerism. Consumerism programs us to buy into the idea that who we become is based on what products we identify with and buy. Like my aunt who likes to rant says, “you can sell it . . . but I don’t have to buy it.”

Of course our belief systems of who we are can also be ascribed to the herd mentality of group consciousness, like the divided times we are living in. You all know this already; the peddling of the divisive viewpoints such as, us and them, dog eat dog and winners and losers.

Remember that the Hidden Hand can only stay hidden if it goes unexamined. Focus on your own hidden self and keep in mind that whatever is lurking in the shadows is really trying to show us our fears and repressed emotions. These shadows are also feelings of shame we might be carrying around ourselves and our lives. But they don’t need to spook, seduce or possess us.

Some ways we can allow the light to illuminate the shadows is to ponder the following questions for self-reflection. You can write out a question at night before you go to sleep, tuck it under your pillow and then see what comes up for you when you wake up and journal about it. May what comes to the surface be a beacon of light in the shadowy fog:

1.) What brings me a feeling of safety and comfort?

2.) What are 3 things I can do to feel more organized?

3.) What are 4 steps I can take to nurture my dreams and goals?

4.) I value…

5.) I am worthy to receive…

Speaking of lifting fog and clearer skies ahead, Mercury will continue in Retrograde till April 24th. Mercury in Retrograde is akin to the old Twilight Zone TV series and a time where our minds may play tricks on us; particularly where left brain activity and machines don’t compute or calculate as accurately.

Perceptual shifts are happening, which is why making big decisions or signing contracts when Mercury is in Retrograde is ill advised.

More importantly, this is a great time to look back at our past selves so that we can shape shift into our future selves, and become the change we want to see in our inner and outer worlds. Even after the 24th, when Mercury goes back direct, it can take up to 10 days for the fog to feel like it has completed lifted.

But the day before that, a Full Pink Moon on the 23rd will rise, and cross pollinate in our spirits; hopefully as gently and gracefully as possible. This moon gets its name from the spreading of moss pink or pink phlox across the fruited plains of the Northern Americas.

Of course this moon goes by many names. After the dirge of Winter, rebirth and new growth are what’s up. May there be a celebration of life singing in the chambers of our collective souls.

For exapmple, in the Jewish tradition, this moon is also known as the Passover Moon because it is symbolic of ancestral freedom from Egypt. Early colonists from the northern Americas called it the Planter’s Moon for obvious reasons, as well as the Sugar Maker Moon, given the season of collecting sap and making maple sugar and syrup. Neo-Pagan traditions named this moon the Awakening Moon because spirits are awakening after a long Winter slumber.

When an awakening takes root in our souls and we recognize that we are living on Indigenous lands. In this state of awareness, we will evoke a living memory of our ancestral roots. May we breathe in a sense of clarity, renewal, healing, and rejuvenation into our souls during this season.

Finally, when our beloved souls leave this Earth and transition into their next stage with Spirit, they become our ancestors. Recently, my spiritual counselor left his human form and let go of his body. Unexpected deaths are always a harder taste of bitter to digest. For me, this magnified other significant losses in my life that I am grieving and feeling really sad about. When our loved ones leave us it’s hard not to feel abandoned, rejected, ghosted and more lonely. We miss their presence in our lives; especially their human form. We are connected to them and they are part of us and we are part of them. But when they leave us behind, it can awaken the experience of a new and deeper connective experience that illuminates the soul with Love and Truth. When I remember Leo, I feel his presence in my life, working his magic from the spirit realm, just as he did while he lived on this Earth. Except now his energy is releasing from form and manifesting its power in new ways that are beyond our human comprehension. We will miss you Leo Knighton Tallarico. Looking forward to new connective experiences in the Mirror of the Mind meditations.

A Full Pink Moon, New Beginnings & An Eclipsing of Springing Energies

Photo by Yunus Tuu011f on Pexels.com

A Full Moon springs into the sky on April 6.

This moon goes by many names, including the Indigenous name Pink Moon

for the pink hued moss vegetation that spreads across the Northern Americas.

It is also referred to the Egg moon and is symbolic of Easter.

Easter always falls after the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox.

This Nature’s junction also reflects the spiritual seeds of rebirth

and the fertile new energies of Spring.

The sunlight is rising in the Northern Hemisphere

and it is hard not to feel inebriated from our chi flowing.

Another synchronicity is that this moon is also referred to as the Frog moon.

Be mindful of tempering the intensities of the Eclipse season,

leaves budding and thunder called on by Frog.

This is a time when the frogs and thunder raises their voices.

Everyone knows the saying, April showers bring May flowers.

The rains that spring forth at this time have a purifying effect on our souls.

They stir up the muddy waters within and help cleanse and wake us up from Winter’s slumber.

May we feel an awakening to get us outside, move around and play.

Take care of yourself everyone,

Ari

Paddling Through the Currents of Events with the Grace of a Swan

A Full Pink Moon rises in our skies on Tuesday, April 7th.

But as many of you know, you can feel the effects of a hungry, and
digesting moon cycle a few days prior to, and after the actual Full Moon.

As this current pandemic event spreads,
so does early spring vegetation across the fruit plains of the Americas.

It can be hard not to resist the not so grand waters
of these rapidly shifting tides of life.

Navigating mixes messages can be like that.

There are many who just want life to go back to normal again.

Some of these people are the same people who
have been waiting on the world to change.

But without an inner directed focus, and spiritually
driven internal shifts, it will be harder to experience any
transformation of becoming the change you want to see in the world.

Staying put, and remaining at home seems like
an easy enough mantra to follow.

Unless it is not.

We are invited to turn inward, and reexamine everything.

Polluted canals in Venice are clearing up,
and dolphins are swimming into inlets that hadn’t been.

With less cars on the roads, and jets in the air,
the planet can rest, and take a deep breath.

If this isn’t a time of a planetary, and universal deep
energetic spring cleaning, then I don’t know what is.

Like an agitated swan, maybe the current waters of life
are enough to make you hiss.

But upon a deeper reflection, may Swan awaken an embracement of
staying afloat through grace under fire during an Aries time of year.

A New Moon on the 22nd, brings new beginnings, along with the
current spirit of the season right now.

Like the Corona virus, Spring is a season of transition
that is not without its mixed messages.

There are rememberances of the ghosts of winter in the air,
of old ways of doing things, that might conjure up nostalgia.

And there are the winds of change in the air, like other times
in human history where massive changes have taken place.

It’s easy to forget that when we have been conditioned to
buy into the business as usual mantra.

Like the Hopi elders say, we are the ones we have been waiting for.

Consider that, another name for corona is crown.

The crown chakra is what connects us to our universal connection to Spirit.

We are living in a time of our crown chakras waking up on Planet Earth.

While being quarantined isn’t the preferred outcome,
we are being given an incentive to awaken this prophecy.

Further movement into Spring’s outgrowth of energies,
reflects the rising light, peaking on the Summer Solstice in later June.

As light starts moving downhill after that, will we see
the darkness of this current pandemic clear up?

How will we all continue to respond to its aftershocks,
readjustment, realignment to a new normal way of being?

With the winds of Climate Change picking up, we do have the opportunity
to come down into our souls, and be in our hearts with each other.

We are being prompted to let go of our attachments to our
deeply engrained habitual distractions that have kept us
sufficiently medicated on life supports.

The present moment contains all that is.
You can heal the past, and create a new future trajectory.

This is authentic power, and you can step into your
power at any given moment.

One step, one moment, one breath at a time.

This can become your new reality, and your new habit
of sacred ritual.

Mindful walking, breathing, and way of doing things
shifts your experience with reality, as does the
reality around you changes.

Till we tweet again peeps,

Ari

Woodpecker Guides Us into the Widsom of the Trees

Woodpecker’s drumming awakens visions of Mother Earth’s
changing heartbeat, energetic pulsing and weather forecast

And yet Friday’s Pink Full Moon remembers our shared blessing of Buddha’s Light
that paved the way for Christ’s Love

Love, Light and Laughter are good medicine ladies and gentlemen

Woodpecker’s spirited teachings help us drill into deeper
soulful exploration in other realms, dimensions, new vistas and novel experiences

A New Age of Aquarius is getting closer . . .

You can go your own way by marching to the beat of your own drum

Stillness speaks to us in a way that lights up our right brains
Here we transform into Homo Luminosity
Literally walking in a Heaven we can see during our Earthwalk

Wake up expecting synchronicity and yet paradoxically let go of expectations . . .

Step up to inner peace by walking in the present moment and
accepting the Now for what it is

Sometimes, you have to face your fears head on and then realize that it is
really more frightening to avoid our fears than it is to lean into them

It’s been three years since the tragic terrors in Boston
exploded in our consciousness . . .

But there have been many terrorist acts there and elsewhere,
before the city was known as Beantown

We should learn from our experiences with fear and acting out violently that
these old dramas only recycle wasted energy and subsequently stagnate growth

But then again, it is Spring and Yang is expressive in His outward growth
May we redefine masculinity by softening Him with a gentle, yet powerful
showering of a feminine Yin energetic cleansing

Let us remember Prince’s inner light was tall in stature
but not confuse his celebrity, ability to push the cultural envelope and talents
to sing and dance, nor applause culture as a true remedy for pain

Like all deaths, his passing gives us permission to grieve with sadness in our hearts

The arts, music and sports are really just games to be playfully experienced –
Regardless of outcome or who wins . . .

May we learn new ways of evolving into a more fair and just society
where empathy and compassion are our politics of Being . . .

May we hit the pause button when it comes to profit-driven over working
at the expense of the players and performing artists who entertain and distract us

There are no enemies . . .
Compete with your opponent but send them love to lighten up the match!

Till the next trail head junction,

Ari

I am looking forward to the forthcoming arrival of my first professionally published book, Something to Chew On: Digesting Healthy Spiritual Food for the Soul in the Calendar Year Ahead. I will keep you posted regarding when it will be released to the public. This book is a collaboration of my writing and my Aunt Barbara’s artwork. I have confident faith that it will be a helpful trail guide along the path of walking meditation.
